Two cases of posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) were reported who had suffered from classic schizophrenic symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, hypervigilance, persecutory delusion, auditory hallucination, loss of social fuction, and withdrawal
They had been treated with antipsychotics but their symptoms were refractory to antipsychotics for more than ten years. Their psychiatric history and symptoms were reviewed in detail which were difference from schizophrenic symptoms in nature and
treatment outcome. Finally, they were diagnosed as posttraumatic stress disorder. After medications were replaced with antidepressants, symptoms of PTSD were responsive to them much better than while hey were treated with antipsychotoics.
